DANIEL PROPHECY FORTRESS GOD WORSHIP IS FULFILLED TODAY
Daniel prophecy fortress god worship Mystery Babylon prophecy fulfilled when Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed this week. Daniel said the ancestors of Abd Bakr al-Baghdadi would move from worshiping many gods to a new false god “fortress god” that was unknown to the ancestors. The fortress god in Daniel is the “Allah” of the Qur’an. This is not the real God–Jesus is the real God..
This week, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed while serving as the caliph of the Islamic State, an al-Qaeda splinter faction that once controlled vast swathes of Syria and Iraq and has affiliate branches as far away as Libya. Now that he is dead the Islamic State is looking for a successor. His successor must be from the Quraish tribe.
The Quraish are the ancestors in Daniel that the king “will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors.” The king is Umar. Daniel prophecy fortress god was the new god “Allah” that Mohammad introduced to Umar.
HE MUST BE FROM THE ANCESTORS WHO DID NOT WORSHIP THE FORTRESS GOD-THE QURAISH TRIBE
There are seven Islamic criteria for a replacement caliph. The most important one is the successor must be able to trace his genealogy back to Mohammad’s tribe, the Quraish. Almost all of the world’s Islamic scholars hold that a legitimate caliph must hail from the Quraish, the ancient Arab tribe to which the (false) Prophet Mohammad belonged. Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman were from this tribe.
Indeed, Quraish descent is one of the seven conditions of being a caliph listed by the Abbasid-era Islamic scholar Abu al-Hasan al-Mawardi in his classic treatise al-Ahkam al-Sultaniyya wal-Wilayat al-Diniyya. (It exists in English as The Ordinances of Government, translated by Asadullah Yate.)
DANIEL’S VISION OF THE POLYTHEISTIC QURAISH TRIBE
When we understand the Quraish tribe, we can see the prophecies of Daniel fulfilled precisely. Umar was of this tribe. Umar followed Abu Bakr, and Umar was third caliph after Mohammad and Abu Bakr. In prophecy Umar is the rider on the black horse with the pair of scales in Revelation 6:5-6. Umar is the “little horn” of Daniel 7:8. And Umar is the “king will do as he pleases” in Daniel 11:36-45.
Umar’s father and his tribe were polytheists who worshiped many gods in Arabia. In 610 Mohammad started preaching the new message of Islam and the new fortress “god” Allah. Like many others in Mecca, Umar opposed Islam and he even threatened to kill Mohammad. Umar believed Islam was opposed to the many gods of his ancestors-the Quraish.
Only Umar could fulfill the prophecy of Daniel 11:37-38. This person had to have ancestors that were polytheist. No Muslim, Christian or Jew could fulfill it today since all are monotheist. But Umar’s (and Mohammad’s) Quraish ancestors were polytheist. They worshipped many gods. And then they found a new fortress god! The false god of the Qur’an–“Allah.” Daniel prophecy fortress god can be understood today.
Daniel 11:37 (NIV)
He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.
Daniel 11:38 (NIV)
Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his ancestors he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.
The most important point to understand in Daniel prophecy is from the line “gods of his ancestors.” Daniel clearly writes the “gods of his ancestors.” This means the king’s ancestors were polytheistic. To fulfill this prophecy, the king must change from a long line of polytheism to monotheism. No Jew, Muslim, atheist or Christian could fulfil this prophecy today, since none has ancestors with “gods”.
“gods of his ancestors” is the key to understanding who fulfilled this prophecy.
Umar’s father and his Quraish tribe were polytheists who worshiped many gods in Arabia. In 610 Mohammad (after given false revelations about Jesus and the Holy Spirit from Satan masquerading as the Angel Gabriel) started preaching the new message of Islam and Allah. Like many others in Mecca, Umar opposed Islam and he even threatened to kill Mohammad. Umar believed Islam was opposed to the many gods of his ancestors.
Umar tried to kill Mohammad in Ethiopia, but instead converted to Islam and adopted the new fortress god. Just as Daniel predicted!
THE RELIGION SET UP BY THE FOUR RIDERS HAD AUTHORITY OVER ONE QUARTER OF THE WORLD
Revelation 6:8 (NASB) I looked, and behold, an ashen [pale green] horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
UMAYYAD CALIPHATE HAD AUTHORITY OVER A QUARTER OF THE WORLD
The Umayyad Caliphate was the second of four Islamic caliphates and was founded in Arabia after the Prophet Muhammad’s death. The Umayyads ruled the Islamic world from 661 to 750 A.D. Their capital was in the city of Damascus; the founder of the caliphate, Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, had long been the governor of Syria.
At its greatest extent1,2, the Umayyad Caliphate covered 5.8 million sq miles and included 62 million people (29% of the world’s population at that time), making it one of the largest empires in history in both area and proportion of the world’s population.

The words of Jesus are always true. Prophecy has been fulfilled. The Book of Revelation explains “Mystery Babylon” as a continuation of the two main fallen angels, Satan and Baal, the dragon and the beast, that continue to oppose the Lamb of God. Baal was placed in the Abyss after the fall of Babylon, and released from the Abyss when the restrainer was removed. The Lamb will triumph over all!
Revelation 17:8 (NIV)
The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.
Mystery Babylon prophecy fulfilled when we understand the four horsemen of Revelation chapter 6 were Mohammad, Abu-Bakr, Umar and Uthman. They had authority over one quarter of the world, just as the Bible predicted.
Abu-Bakr worshipped at a Mosque in Samarra that strongly resembled the Tower of Babel where Baal was worshiped in the Old Testament. Baal is the beast and dwells in the Kaaba today.
MOSQUE TOWER IN SAMARA WHERE ABU-BAKR AL-BAGHDADI WORSHIPPED
The worship of Baal was established in Babylon in the famous tower of Babel, the uppermost room of which served at the same time as an observatory, and as the repository of a collection of astronomical observations.
Jeremiah 19:5 (NASB)
“And have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing which I never commanded or spoke of, nor did it ever enter My mind.”
TOWER OF BABEL SET UP TO WORSHIP BAAL
The prophecy of Jesus has come true today! You can trust the words of Jesus. Jesus is returning soon.
The Book of Revelation is a warning from Jesus about Islam. The prophecies from Jesus in Revelation are also mostly fulfilled.
PRAYING TO BAAL IN THE KAABA-THE IMAGE OF THE BEAST
There is good news—there is a path back to God, but only Jesus can give this salvation! There is truth! That Jesus gives salvation is truth also means salvation is found in no one else, nor any other holy book.
We are all sinners, and the consequence of sin is death—not just physical death, but eternal separation from God. Yet the true God loves us and wants to bring us back to him.
Much more prophecy has been fulfilled than most people understand. Our job is not to focus too much on fulfilled prophecy–but rather tell as many people about the Gospel–while we still have time.
Spread the Gospel
Keep praying for the Holy Spirit to allow Muslims and Jewish people to learn the truth of Jesus while they still have some time.
