Hezbollah Beware!  The Tall Cedars of Lebanon Will Fall

“Listen to the wail of the shepherds; their rich pastures are destroyed!”

Hezbollah beware!  Hezbollah means “the party of Allah” or the “army of Allah.”  Allah’s army in Lebanon, beware!  The Second Coming of Jesus is near, and the spiritual Antichrist’s reign will soon come to an end.  Let us not ignore the signs foretold in the Bible prophecies from Zechariah, Isaiah and Ezekiel about the fate of the “tall cedars of Lebanon” and prepare for Judgment Day.

Zechariah 11:1-3 (NIV)
1 Open your doors, Lebanon, so that fire may devour your cedars!  2 Wail, you juniper, for the cedar has fallen; the stately trees are ruined! Wail, oaks of Bashan; the dense forest has been cut down! 3 Listen to the wail of the shepherds; their rich pastures are destroyed!   Listen to the roar of the lions;
the lush thicket of the Jordan is ruined!

The prophet Zechariah (11:1-3) depicts a scene of vast devastation and mourning. The trees are metaphors for the spiritual realm.  Lebanon, known for its majestic cedar trees, is called to open its doors as intense fire consumes its cedars. The juniper and oaks of Bashan are also lamented as they are destroyed, symbolizing the destruction of what were originally pure angels before their rebellion, prosperous and abundant in beauty.  Hezbollah beware!  This prophecy is about you!

The wailing of the shepherds and the roaring of the lions further emphasize the widespread devastation of this realm. The lush thicket of the Jordan, a fertile and rich area, is described as ruined, highlighting the widespread and comprehensive nature of the calamity.

In its historical context, these verses are part of a prophetic message warning of judgment and calamity upon the land, possibly referring to past events like the destruction of Jerusalem and the exile of the Israelites, but now looking forward to future judgment at the return of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 2:12-14 (NIV)
12 The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled), 13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty, and all the oaks of Bashan, 14 for all the towering mountains and all the high hills,

These verses from Isaiah (2:12-14) describe a soon day of judgment that the Lord Almighty has planned. It is a day when those who are proud, lofty, and exalted will be humbled and brought low. The imagery used includes the tall and majestic cedars of Lebanon and the oaks of Bashan, which symbolize strength, prosperity, and pride of the unclean spiritual realm. Even the towering mountains and high hills, representing earthly grandeur and power, will be brought low on this day of reckoning. This passage serves as a reminder of the sovereignty of God and the accountability of all before Him. It emphasizes that human pride and earthly greatness will not endure in the face of divine judgment.

Ezekiel 31:10-12 (NIV)
10 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height, 11 I gave it into the hands of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside, 12 and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it.”

In these verses from Ezekiel (31:10-12), the prophet delivers a message from the Sovereign Lord regarding a great cedar tree that symbolizes a powerful spirit realm ruler. The cedar tree is depicted as towering over thick foliage, proud of its height, which metaphorically represents that nation’s (Assyria) spirit leader’s arrogance and self-importance.

However, due to its wickedness and pride, God decrees judgment upon this ruler. The Lord hands it over to the ruler of nations (Baal, the Man of Lawlessness, the Prince of Demons, the “Destroyer”, Allah of the Qur’an), who acts as an instrument of divine judgment. This Prince of Demons ruler of the nations is described as ruthless and capable of cutting down the great cedar, thereby bringing about its downfall and destruction.

Hezbollah beware!  This passage illustrates God’s sovereignty over nations and rulers in the spiritual realm, emphasizing that pride and arrogance will ultimately face divine judgment. It serves as a warning against hubris and a reminder of the consequences of disregarding God’s righteous standards.

These verses from Ephesians (6:12-13) are part of the apostle Paul’s exhortation to the church regarding spiritual warfare. He emphasizes that the real battle Christians face is not against human adversaries (flesh and blood), but against spiritual forces of evil. These spiritual adversaries include rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, and spiritual forces in heavenly realms—indicating a hierarchy of evil spiritual beings. People today seem to have forgotten this core teaching.

Paul urges believers to prepare themselves by putting on the “full armor of God,” which he describes in the subsequent verses (Ephesians 6:14-17). This metaphorical armor includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with readiness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

The purpose of putting on this armor is so that believers can withstand and resist evil in times of spiritual attack (“the day of evil”), and having done everything, to remain standing firm in their faith and in their position in Christ.

These verses are a powerful reminder of the spiritual realities behind earthly conflicts and the importance of relying on God’s strength and protection in facing spiritual challenges.

Jesus said a false Revelation would come into the world.  Jesus said this some 550 years before the Qur’an was given to Mohammad.

Revelation 22:18 (NIV)
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them,
God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.

Revelation 22:19 (NIV)
And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any
share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

Jesus is returning soon.  The Book of Revelation is directly from Jesus Christ.  It is the most important book in the Bible for the world today.

The truth is Jesus is the Son of God, died for our sins, and is the only path to the Father and eternal life.

Jesus is returning soon.  Put your trust in Jesus Christ.  His words are always true.
