Islamic Terrorism Opposes Jesus as Son of God

Christians understand Islamic terrorism opposes Jesus as the Son of God.  Muslims respect Jesus as a prophet, but some fight to remove Him as the Son of God. The Koran says Jesus is just a messenger, while the Bible repeatedly tells us Jesus is God. There is no path to heaven but through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus.  Faith in Jesus washes away our sins.

The Gospel of John in Arabic and English is here:

There is a 911broad based spiritual and physical war occurring in the Islamic world today.  The top 10 physical wars in the world today are all in Islamic countries.  The pace is increasing, not decreasing.  Although the attacks of 9/11 were 15 years ago, the world is far less safe today.  Why?  The problem is an idea—Tawhid.   This idea cannot be defeated by armies.  Only the return of Christ will defeat Tawhid.  The spiritual battle is about Tawhid—the oneness of Allah—and any belief in Jesus as God, or the Holy Spirit as God must be punished.

This past Sunday, America and the world remembered the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in which nearly 3,000 American died.  America has been fighting a 15 year war in Afghanistan, and yet recent reports indicate the Taliban is regaining strength.  America invaded Iraq in 2003, and unleased Babylon and ISIS.  Now Islamic Turkey has invaded Syria and is now intent on eliminating ISIS in Syria.  After gaining control of most of Syria, Turkey will likely link up with Iran (Persia).  The invading countries of Ezekiel 38-39 are lining up in formation.

Why Did Osama Bin Laden Attack America, What Did He Want?

The clearest way to understand why 9/11 attacks occurred is to read the 1998 Fatwa and 2002 Letter to America, both from Osama Bin Laden.

In his 1998 Fatwa, Bin Laden gives three justifications for future Islamic attacks against America:

1. Since 1990 Gulf War, the United States (“non-believers in Tawhid”) have been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula.
2. Iraq sanctions were hurting Muslims, and
3. Support for Israel

In his 2002 letter to America, Bin Laden gives two reasons for 2001 Islamic attacks against America, and also what he wants from America:

1. America has attacked Islam throughout the world both by military intervention (Bin Laden lists Iraq, Somalia, Chechnya, Lebanon, and Kashmir) and supporting governments that block Islamic Sharia law.  Bin Laden was particularly opposed to “non-believer” troops stationed in Islamic countries.
2. Support for Israel (“Palestine”)

In his 2002 letter, Bin Laden wanted America to convert to Islam, and follow Tawhid:

“As for the second question that we want to answer: What are we calling you to, and what do we want from you?  (1) The first thing that we are calling you to is Islam.

(a) The religion of the Unification of Allah; of freedom from associating partners with Him, and rejection of this; of complete love of Him, the Exalted; of complete submission to His Laws; and of the discarding of all the opinions, orders, theories and religions which contradict with the religion He sent down to His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Islam is the religion of all the prophets, and makes no distinction between them – peace be upon them all.”

Understanding Islamic Tawhid

Tawhid (also transliterated as Tawheed and Towheed), meaning the oneness of Allah [God].

Tawhid is the indivisible oneness concept of monotheism in Islam.  Tawhid is Islam’s most fundamental concept and holds that Allah is One (Al-ʾAḥad) and Single (Al-Wāḥid).  This what Bin Laden meant when he wrote “the Unification of Allah; freedom from associating partners with Him.”

Tawhid constitutes the foremost article of the Muslim profession of faith. The first part of the Shahada (the Islamic declaration of faith) is the declaration of belief in the oneness of Allah. To attribute divinity to a created entity, known as shirk, is an unpardonable sin according to the Koran. Muslims believe that the entirety of the Islamic teaching rests on the principle of Tawhid.

The Koran does rarely use the term “Holy Spirit”, but it is never God, but rather supposedly meaning the “Angel Gabriel.”

Koran 4:171  “O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah….So believe in Allah and his messengers.  And do not say ‘Three.’”

Koran 5:73  “They do blaspheme Allah who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity, for there is no God but Allah….verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.”

“Tawhid necessitates action. In one of his first public addresses after the attacks, Osama Bin Laden explained that his understanding of Tawhid mandated a conflict with the United States.”

“This transforms Islam into a living ideal, something which must be physically manifest and given continuous expression through acts.  Faith alone is insufficient to achieve the requirements of Tawhid here.”

Islam Actively Opposes the Holy Spirit

Islam is the only major religion to appear in the world after Christ, the risen Messiah, ascended into heaven.  Only Islam is actively opposed to the Holy Spirit from God.  Islam opposes the Trinity, since the Trinity proves Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is also a form of God.  This was Satan’s main message when he appeared as the “Angel Gabriel” to Mohammad in 610.

Satan was opposed to the Holy Spirit since the Holy Spirit (“the one who is in you”) is more powerful than Satan for a Christian believer.

1 John 4 (NIV) “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”

Jesus Warned a Time Would Come of Those Opposed to the Holy Spirit

Islam is different (Tawhid) and seeks to destroy anyone that recognizes Jesus or the Holy Spirit as actually God.  This is understandable, since Islam was inspired directly by Satan and the Holy Spirit is stronger than Satan.  By recognizing the opposition to the Holy Spirit, we can better understand the origins of Islam are Satanic.  Satan uses Islam to collect as many souls as possible to destroy them in hell.

The Pharisees said miracles from Jesus were not from God.  In Matthew 12: 31-32, Jesus warned the Pharisees against being opposed to the Holy Spirit and such will not be forgiven– “in this age, nor in that which is to come.”  What did Jesus mean about the age “that which is to come”?  One interpretation is that Jesus was also speaking about the age of Islam opposed to the Holy Spirit in the last days.

Matthew 12 (NIV) 31 “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.  32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.”

Matthew 10 (NIV) 28 “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

2nd Corinthians 11 (NIV) 13 “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”

All of these events are part of what Jesus said would happen.  God will soon prove His Holiness.
