Muslims Learn Gospel of Jesus Gives Eternal Life — 3 Comments

  1. In Isaiah 9:6 said: “He shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, The prince of Peace.”
If so, who is the God the Father in New Testament as Jesus mentioned in a prayer?
Secondly. Who is the Almighty God mentions in all the books in Old Testament?
If Jesus will be called Everlasting Father, is that mean He is replaced to the throne of God the father in the Heaven in the coming future?

    • Dear Friend:

Thank you for your question! Jesus does not replace the Father, Jesus and the Father are one.

      1. Jesus was fully human and fully God. Jesus and the Father are one God. This is what Isaiah 9:6 is referring to: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

      2. Yes, Jesus prayed to his Father in John 17:1-5: After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

      3. Jesus said he was the Son of God when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead: John 11:4: When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”

      4. Jesus and the Father are one. John 10:28-30: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

      5. The prophet Zechariah made this clear when the Father was pierced (Jehovah-the Father-speaking through Zechariah) in Zechariah 12:10: “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”

      God Bless You.
